Artist Statement

The Savior is hard to paint! Balancing attributes of strength and sensitivity, masculine and feminine, and mortal and divine is always dicey. This image was a commission representing the separating of the sheep and the goats from Matthew 25. I like the morning dawn colors and the stream behind the Savior that implies living water.
