Artist Statement

The historical iconography of Catholic Saints or Greek Orthodox icons has always enchanted me. My fresh, modern version was also inspired by an interest in painting the intersecting circle pattern in the fascinating “Cathedral Window” quilt with the same aspect in the stencil I used for the 3 dimensional texture that surrounds the figures.
