Artist Statement

Originally commissioned for a library, this painting depicts several references to the nature of gaining intelligence. The bright glowing light represents the ability knowledge and study have in illuminating eery aspen of our lives. The large healthy plant further symbolizes growth and fertility of mind. The quilt allies to the connectedness of experience as well as fact-based learning. We gain “line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little” until the grand design of our life and mission is revealed.
